“To the Artists, Fans, and Alt Rebels — This Is What Meta Has Done to Us.”
I never thought I’d see the day when sharing music — the very heartbeat of what I do — would become an act punished by the platforms that claim to support creativity.
Over the past few months, I’ve watched hundreds of posts vanish from Aria Star Music News. Reels I spent hours editing. Articles I poured love into. Stories that introduced fans to new artists. All deleted.
Not because I stole anything.
Not because I broke a rule.
But because Meta — the same company that encourages creators to use trending sounds — decided to silence them instead.
Even when I used Meta’s own uploaded audio, my posts were struck down. Even when I spoke my own words over the track — my voice, my image, my energy — they were muted or erased.
For those who don’t know, I don’t make a single cent from Aria Star.
There are no brand deals. No sponsorships. No revenue. For over four years, every website fee, video edit, Canva design, and subscription has come from my own pocket.
I’ve made no profit — in fact, I’ve made a loss — because this was never about money. It’s always been about love.
Love for alternative music.
Love for Asia’s underground artists.
Love for every musician who pours their heart into their craft and deserves to be heard.
But lately, I find myself asking a painful question:
What’s the point, if no one can even see what I create?
I’ve spent thousands of hours writing, editing, posting, and promoting — only to have my work buried or deleted. It’s heartbreaking to realize that passion alone might not be enough in a system designed to silence us.
I don’t know how to come back from this.
I want to keep writing. I want to keep fighting.
But right now, it feels like screaming into a void that doesn’t want to listen.
Still, I’m sharing this because someone needs to know what’s happening — and maybe, just maybe, my words will reach another creator, artist, or fan who feels the same.
Because even if we’re muted, we’re not alone.
With love, honesty, and exhaustion —
